1 Open our loan team page by clicking  
2 Click on JOIN NOW.
3 You will be asked to register at KIVA.

4 Please do NOT register as anonymous.  When you are known as part of the team, it builds our spirit of community and encourages others to join. Also, it is good to choose to have your first name, city, state and country listed as a Albuquerque CSL team member so that others around the world know we in Albuquerque USA are represented.

5 When the "Congratulations for joining the team" page has come up, click on LEND.
6 Choose a borrower. You will see a world map on the left side of the screen. When you click on the map, a larger version will appear with balloons on the countries of people wanting loans at that time. By clicking on the balloon you will see information about each of the borrowers.

7 Click on LEND $25 for the person for whom you want to make a loan. Then you will be given the opportunity to loan more than $25 or loan $25 to each of a number of people and therefore can do that, if you desire.

8 You will be asked if you want to make a small contribution to KIVA's operating expenses, but it's certainly not required, so watch for the selection box and, if you don't want to donate the suggested amount (15%) click on EDIT to the left of the box and a drop down window will let you make no donation or a different donation than the one suggested. The full amount you loan goes to the borrower.

9 When you are asked to pay, you can choose to use PayPal (on the right side of the screen) or pay by a debit or credit card and this process is begun by clicking Continue on the left side of the screen.

10 The last page that will come up after you have paid for the loan is Set Up Account Preferences. Please fill in your first name, city, state and United States. This is how you will appear to others, including other lenders to this same borrower.
